Abstract: Climate change has emerged as a significant global concern in recent decades. Although changes in climate patterns have occurred since ancient times, they have intensified due to the detrimental impacts of the Anthropocene. The dualism underlying this phenomenon remains an often invisible construction. Anthropogenic climate change has disrupted the interrelationship between humans and non-humans, affecting not only the environment but also multiple spheres of life, including migration, animal extinction, unprecedented catastrophes, and gender disparity. As a result, its consequences extend across a broad range of social, ecological, and political contexts.
Prominent thinkers such as Donna Haraway, Dipesh Chakrabarty, and Amitav Ghosh have critically addressed the effects and vulnerabilities associated with climate change. Vulnerability within climate discourse serves as a catalyst for both geographical and psychological consequences, highlighting the far-reaching impact of environmental crises. Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) outlines various mitigation strategies aimed at ensuring sustainable and resilient livelihoods. This research article examines the effects of changing climate patterns and analyses critical perspectives on climate change and the Anthropocene through the insights of major climate theorists.
